Ghost of Yōtei on PC: Release Status, Features and What to Expect.
Ghost of Yōtei PC is a popular search topic among players who enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima and want to know whether Sucker Punch Productions’ newer samurai adventure will eventually arrive on Windows.
The situation is straightforward as of September 2026: Ghost of Yōtei is officially available on PlayStation 5, but there is no announced PC version or official PC release date. PlayStation’s official game page specifically states that the game launched exclusively on PlayStation 5 on October 2, 2025, with support for PlayStation 5 Pro.
That does not establish that a PC version can never happen. It simply means that players looking for an official Windows release currently do not have a confirmed PC edition to purchase or a release date to plan around.
Meanwhile, the game continues to receive new content. The Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is scheduled for October 1, 2026 globally, with October 2 availability in some territories including parts of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The new edition adds a story expansion, a combat survival mode, and additional content.
This guide explains the current PC situation, gameplay, story, characters, editions, new 2026 content, and what PC players should know before searching for unofficial downloads.
Quick Answer: Is Ghost of Yōtei Coming to PC?
There is currently no official PC release date for Ghost of Yōtei.
The official PlayStation page lists the game for PS5 and PS5 Pro, and its FAQ states that Ghost of Yōtei launched exclusively on PlayStation 5 on October 2, 2025.
Therefore:
- Ghost of Yōtei is officially playable on PS5.
- PS5 Pro support is available.
- There is no official Windows version currently listed.
- There is no official Steam release announced.
- There is no official Epic Games Store release announced.
- No official PC system requirements have been published.
- A future PC release should not be treated as confirmed until Sony or Sucker Punch announces one.
This distinction is particularly important because unofficial websites may use terms such as “Ghost of Yōtei PC download” or “Ghost of Yōtei PC crack” even when no official PC version exists.

What Is Ghost of Yōtei?
Ghost of Yōtei is an action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
It follows Atsu, a lone mercenary who travels across Ezo while pursuing the people responsible for killing her family.
Unlike Ghost of Tsushima, the new game does not continue Jin Sakai’s main story.
Instead, it introduces a new protagonist and a different historical setting.
PlayStation describes Ghost of Yōtei as a standalone experience set in the 1600s around Mount Yōtei in northern Japan. Atsu’s journey involves tracking a group known as the Yōtei Six while forming relationships with allies along the way.
Why Are People Searching for Ghost of Yōtei PC?
The search interest around Ghost of Yōtei PC is understandable.
Ghost of Tsushima eventually became available on PC, giving PC players access to Sucker Punch’s samurai world after its original PlayStation release.
That history has led many players to wonder whether Ghost of Yōtei could follow a similar path.
However, the previous game’s PC availability does not confirm anything about Ghost of Yōtei.
Each Sony title receives its own platform and release decisions.
For that reason, the safest way to describe the current situation is:
Ghost of Yōtei has no officially announced PC version or PC release date as of September 2026.
Is Ghost of Yōtei on Steam?
No official Steam version is currently listed by PlayStation.
The official PlayStation Store listing identifies the game as a PS5 product. The Complete Edition is also listed for PS5.
Therefore, players should be cautious with websites claiming to offer an official Steam key for Ghost of Yōtei.
A legitimate Steam announcement would normally come through Sony, Sucker Punch, or an official store listing.
Until that happens, a third-party claim should not be treated as confirmation.
Is Ghost of Yōtei Available on Epic Games Store?
There is currently no official Epic Games Store version announced in the PlayStation information reviewed for this article.
That means PC players should not assume that an Epic release is planned simply because they find a webpage mentioning one.
The same principle applies to other PC storefronts.
An actual PC release would need an official announcement and legitimate store listing.
Will Ghost of Yōtei Come to PC?
At present, the answer is unknown.
The official PlayStation page confirms the PS5 launch and does not provide a PC release date.
That leaves two facts that should be kept separate:
Confirmed: Ghost of Yōtei is a PS5 title.
Not confirmed: A future Windows version.
This distinction prevents speculation from being presented as news.
Players may continue to see rumors about a potential PC port, but rumors should not be confused with an official announcement.
Ghost of Yōtei PC System Requirements
Because Sony has not announced an official PC version, there are currently no official PC system requirements for the game.
That means there are no confirmed requirements for:
- CPU
- GPU
- RAM
- Storage
- Windows version
- DirectX
- SSD requirements
- Recommended resolution
- Recommended graphics settings
Websites publishing exact “minimum” or “recommended” specifications without an official PC announcement should be treated cautiously.
When a PC version is officially announced, Sony or the publisher should provide verified hardware information.
What Is the Story About?
Ghost of Yōtei follows Atsu’s personal quest for revenge and healing.
Her family was killed years earlier, and she sets out to track down those responsible.
Her journey takes her through Ezo, a region corresponding to northern Japan, where she encounters the six outlaws connected to her past.
The official PlayStation description emphasizes Atsu’s journey through unexplored areas, relationships with allies, and the search for the Yōtei Six.
The story therefore has its own identity rather than simply repeating the narrative of Ghost of Tsushima.
Is Ghost of Yōtei a Sequel to Ghost of Tsushima?
Ghost of Yōtei is related to the same broader creative universe, but it is not a direct story sequel to Ghost of Tsushima.
PlayStation’s official FAQ describes it as an evolution of the design and mythology of the earlier game rather than a direct continuation of Jin Sakai’s story.
The time period is also much later.
That allows the developers to introduce:
- A new protagonist
- A new region
- New characters
- New conflicts
- New historical circumstances
- A different personal story
Who Is Atsu?
Atsu is the protagonist of Ghost of Yōtei.
She is presented as a mercenary whose journey is shaped by a traumatic event in her past.
Her mission is connected to the people responsible for her family’s death.
Instead of playing as Jin Sakai again, players experience the world through Atsu’s perspective.
Her story explores revenge, relationships, survival, and the possibility of healing.
Where Is Ghost of Yōtei Set?
The game takes place in Ezo during the 1600s, around Mount Yōtei.
The setting provides a different environment from Tsushima.
The world includes:
- Snow-covered landscapes
- Forests
- Mountainous areas
- Villages
- Open wilderness
- Historical settlements
- Areas connected to Atsu’s journey
PlayStation describes the game as taking place on the periphery of northern Japan during the 1600s.
What Is the Yōtei Six?
The Yōtei Six are six outlaws connected to Atsu’s revenge quest.
Tracking them forms a major part of the game’s central narrative.
The journey is not simply about fighting enemies. Atsu also meets allies and develops relationships while exploring Ezo.
That combination gives the open world a narrative purpose beyond simply providing a large map.
What Is the Combat Like?
Ghost of Yōtei builds on the combat-focused design associated with Sucker Punch’s previous samurai game.
Players can engage enemies using different weapons and combat approaches.
The game emphasizes fluid fighting and exploration.
The Complete Edition also introduces additional combat-focused content through the new Most Wanted mode.
That mode expands the combat system into a survival-style format with escalating encounters and playable characters.
What Is Ghost of Yōtei Legends?
Ghost of Yōtei Legends is the game’s online cooperative multiplayer experience.
It brings back the Legends concept from Ghost of Tsushima while adapting it to the new setting.
The Complete Edition supports cooperative gameplay for up to four players, with multiple modes including Survival, Story, and Incursion.
Online multiplayer requires a PlayStation account and PlayStation Plus subscription according to the official PlayStation Store information.
What Is Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara?
Echoes of Sekigahara is a new narrative expansion announced for the Complete Edition.
It expands Atsu’s story through both present-day events and flashbacks.
According to Sucker Punch, players will encounter:
- A new area of Ezo
- New enemies
- New heavy weapons
- New armor
- New dyes
- Additional story material
- Events connected to Atsu’s past
- The Battle of Sekigahara
The expansion is scheduled to become available through patch 2.0 on October 1, 2026 globally and October 2 in certain territories, including parts of Asia.
What Is Most Wanted?
Most Wanted is a new single-player combat survival mode.
Sucker Punch describes it as its own take on a roguelike experience.
Players accept increasingly difficult bounties, fight enemies, earn perks, and unlock additional playable characters.
One particularly notable announcement came in September 2026: Jin Sakai returns as a playable character in Most Wanted.
This does not make Jin the protagonist of the main Ghost of Yōtei campaign. His appearance is specifically connected to the new combat mode.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition
The Complete Edition is scheduled to arrive on PS5 in October 2026.
It includes the main game plus additional content such as:
- Echoes of Sekigahara
- Most Wanted
- Ghost of Yōtei Legends
- Digital Deluxe content
- Additional cosmetics
- Charm of Hokkyokusei
- Other bonus items
The official PlayStation Store currently lists the Complete Edition as a PS5 product.
The new story expansion and Most Wanted mode will be delivered through patch 2.0.
What Free Content Is Coming?
Players who already own Ghost of Yōtei can also receive several updates without purchasing the Complete Edition upgrade.
The October 2026 update includes:
- Beauty of Yōtei mode
- New Watanabe Mode tracks
- An option to preserve one armor set’s appearance while using another set’s statistics
- A new high-contrast accessibility option
- Additional quality-of-life improvements
The Beauty of Yōtei mode is designed to let players view Ezo’s environments and use Photo Mode in a more relaxed way.
Can PC Players Use an Emulator?
Players may encounter discussions about emulation when searching for Ghost of Yōtei PC.
However, emulation is different from having an official PC port.
A game being playable through an unofficial technical method does not mean Sony has released a Windows version.
Players should also consider copyright, platform terms, hardware requirements, and the legality of obtaining game files before pursuing unofficial methods.
For most users, the clearest option is to rely on officially supported platforms and announcements.
What About Ghost of Yōtei PC Downloads?
Search results may contain websites offering:
- Ghost of Yōtei PC download
- Ghost of Yōtei cracked version
- Ghost of Yōtei free download
- Ghost of Yōtei PC torrent
- Ghost of Yōtei setup file
- Ghost of Yōtei Steam download
These pages should not be treated as proof of an official PC release.
A legitimate PC version would normally be distributed through an official or recognized digital storefront.
Downloading an executable from an unknown website can also expose a computer to security risks.
Potential problems include:
- Malware
- Credential theft
- Fake installers
- Browser redirects
- Unwanted software
- Modified game files
- Cryptocurrency miners
- Phishing pages
Until an official PC version exists, there is no reason to trust a random “Ghost of Yōtei PC” installer simply because it uses the game’s name.
Ghost of Yōtei vs Ghost of Tsushima
The two games share creative DNA but are not identical.
| Feature | Ghost of Tsushima | Ghost of Yōtei |
|---|---|---|
| Main protagonist | Jin Sakai | Atsu |
| Main setting | Tsushima | Ezo |
| Historical period | 13th century | 1600s |
| Developer | Sucker Punch Productions | Sucker Punch Productions |
| Main platform at original launch | PS4/PS5 | PS5 |
| Main story relationship | Original story | Standalone experience |
| Legends multiplayer | Yes | Yes |
| PC status | PC version exists | No official PC version announced |
The most important difference for people searching for Ghost of Yōtei PC is that the PC history of Ghost of Tsushima does not establish a PC release for Ghost of Yōtei.
Should You Wait for a PC Version?
That depends on your preferred platform and how you want to play.
If you already own a PS5, the game is officially available there.
If you only play games on Windows, there is currently no confirmed PC version to purchase or schedule around.
Therefore, players should monitor official PlayStation and Sucker Punch announcements rather than relying on unofficial release dates.
A future PC announcement could change the situation, but it should be treated as confirmed only when Sony or an official platform listing provides the information.

The game continues to receive substantial content in 2026. The upcoming Complete Edition adds Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, Legends content, cosmetics, and other extras. Existing owners will also receive several free improvements through the October 2026 update.
The appearance of Jin Sakai in Most Wanted is also notable, but it does not change the role of Atsu as the main protagonist of Ghost of Yōtei.
